Music Therapy

Music Therapy combines artistic expression and healing, and it benefits individuals across all dimensions of society. The field not only provides a creative outlet for individuals passionate about music but also equips them with the skills to make a positive impact on people's lives. Students learn to use music as a therapeutic tool to work with people of all ages in relation to mental health, developmental and physical disabilities, addiction, chronic pain, age-related conditions such as Alzheimer’s, and more.

What can you do with a Music Therapy degree?

This interdisciplinary program provides a well-rounded education that prepares students to provide vital services in diverse healthcare and educational settings such as:

  • Hospitals and clinics
  • Schools and day care centers
  • Correctional facilities
  • Important agencies and programs

When students complete their undergraduate coursework in music therapy, they are eligible to take the national certification exam. After successful completion of the exam, they have the board certified credential and are ready to enter the workforce.
