Pride of the North
Be part of the sound, the spirit, and the tradition!
Pride of the North is the heartbeat of University of North Dakota athletics—bringing energy, excitement, and school spirit to every game and campus event. As the premier athletic band program in the upper Midwest, Pride of the North sets the standard for performance, passion, and pride.
With two powerhouse bands, the Pride of the North is the largest university-supported organization at UND, electrifying crowds and representing the university in unforgettable ways. Every year, our performances reach over half a million live viewers, making Pride of the North an experience like no other.
Marching Band
The Pride of the North Marching Band is about more than playing on game day—it’s an experience that extends far beyond the field. Pride builds a community rooted in high standards, teamwork, and genuine support, where individual members grow into a unified ensemble and lasting friendships are formed.
Members take the spotlight at every home football game, performing an exciting pregame show and several original halftime productions each season. The band also proudly represents UND in tradition-rich events like the Potato Bowl and Homecoming Parades, ensuring Pride of the North is seen, heard, and remembered all year long.
Athletic Band
Our goal is to create a safe and encouraging environment where all students can continue to enjoy performing and sharing their talents with the public. Membership is open to all UND students regardless of year or major. In fact, we have members from almost every major on campus and from every corner of the United States.
