GIS Internship - 2026 Summer
The City of Ankeny is seeking a creative and motivated student or recent graduate to fill our paid, temporary full-time GIS Summer Internship Program. This internship offers an opportunity to gain experience in building, maintaining, modifying, and using geographic information systems (GIS) databases, providing user support, creating and editing desktop GIS data, transcribing information from hard copy documentation into GIS, creating maps for other departments, and collecting field data using ArcGIS.The GIS intern will report to the Development Engineering Manager in the Municipal Utilities Department.The compensation rate is $17.00 per hour, 40 hours per week for 13 weeks , beginning mid-May and ending in mid-August. Pre-employment drug screen and background check is required.Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
