Forbidden Hearts 

The sun settles in her nest in the west
Having done her work for the day 
The moon takes his place, whitely dressed 
Waiting for his work, wishing away 

Filled with hope, he sneaks a peak
Missing her again, he frowns
Darkness surrounds him, feeling so bleak
Sinking down among the towns  

As morning comes, he sees her smile
Brightening, he shows his face
Confidence lights his entire profile
Her gleam, her gladness, her grace 

From the moment they met, you could see in the skies
Their love for each other, reflecting at every sunrise 

About Sarah Dignan

Hello, my name is Sarah Dignan. I am a Communications major from Warroad, MN, and this is my second year at UND. I currently work for UND in Marketing & Communications as a Graphic Design intern. In my spare time, I mentor a high school robotics team: FIRST Robotics Team 8188 Grand Force, like to hang out with my friends and family (and my pets, my turtle, Rango and my dog, Pepper), read a good book, binge watch Grey’s Anatomy, or spend time outdoors (specifically bike riding, at the lake, fishing, or just going for a walk to enjoy the scenery).
