Students
Sarah’s role is to engage with the public about the DRP project and assist in educational outreach initiatives through conferences, publications, and mass communications on behalf of the project.
Rob’s knowledge has been used as advising for multiple journal manuscripts and conference papers. Additionally, when one of our artificial intelligence / machine learning or mapping experts needs help with data-related tasks Rob is usually the first person on call to assist.
Ian assists in building and maintaining the DRP website and its data hosting and processing capability.
Hayden Patterson is a graduate student finishing his Masters Degree in Geology. His primary topic relates to the study of Permafrost. He leverages ArcGIS in his work and recently returned from conducting data gathering in Alaska this past summer 2023.
Mary Soaper is an undergraduate student currently working on completing her bachelor’s degree in Geology. Her decision to pursue geology was influenced by her long-standing fascination with Earth’s cryosphere. This fascination is what inspired Mary to join the project as a field research assistant to aid in monitoring Alaska’s permafrost conditions.
