Floodwall Volume 1 Archives: 2012–2014
Editors: Geoff Peck, Ben Greenlee, Cameron Kelsall, Alex Cavanaugh, and Abbey Numedahl
The brainchild of former UND English graduate student, Geoff Peck, the first version of Floodwall was an international literary magazine run entirely by graduate students in the UND English Department. Authors from Floodwall, volume 1, have since had books and collections published. The initial run also includes interviews with the likes of George Saunders and Adam Johnson.
Floodwall Volume 2 Archives: 2020–Present
Managing Editor: Caitlin Scheresky
Previous Managing Editors: Myra Henderson, Amy Kielmeyer
Weeks before much of the country shuttered for COVID lockdowns, a group of UND students and faculty met to revive the UND English Department's proud tradition of creating publishing opportunities for our broader campus community. This led to the re-launch of Floodwall as a publication for UND student writers and artists. Initially produced entirely online by a dedicated group of student volunteers, this iteration of Floodwall has since expanded into a teaching tool for students in the UND English Department's Creative Writing and Writing, Editing, and Publishing certificate program. Each spring, Floodwall also publishes the winners of the campus-wide creative writing scholarship competitions.
