Student Opportunities in Music
Students are provided with numerous performance opportunities including in large ensembles, chamber ensembles, and as soloists.
- The UND Wind Ensemble performed at the prestigious Percy Grainger Wind Band Festival in Chicago.
- The Red River Trio tours annually in Japan.
- The UND Saxophone Quartet has been selected to perform at multiple International Saxophone Symposiums and North American Saxophone Alliance Conferences.
- The Pride of the North Athletic Bands travel regularly with UND sports teams to various events.
- Our annual Guest Artist Series includes concerts, masterclasses, and workshops by world-renowed musicians.

Music Faculty
Our faculty receive national and international recognition for their talents, which they bring back to the classroom to share with you. The music faculty consist of specialists in the major orchestral and band instruments, piano, voice, music history, theory and composition, conducting, and music education. We pride ourselves on personal attention to students, high standards, and a close working relationship with the Grand Forks community.
