Colloquium: Dr. Andrew Frey
Dr. Andrew Frey Department of Physics University of Winnipeg Winnipeg, ManitobaNot-So-Dark Matter
Most of the matter in the universe is made of invisible particles called dark matter. After reviewing the evidence for and predictive power of this statement, I'll sketch some common beliefs about dark matter. Then I'll tell two stories about gamma rays in astrophysics, one old and one new, that might be related to dark matter and explain what they might mean about particle physics and where else that particle physics might show up. Dark matter may not be so dark after all!
