Summer Study Abroad
This exciting summer study abroad opportunity offers UND students an in-depth examination of China, a country with a rapidly growing economy and significant global influence.
With special emphasis on the practical development of cross-cultural communication skills, the China Study Program helps students gain a deeper understanding of China, its language, history, politics, customs and culture. This is the longest running faculty-led study abroad program at UND and one of the most reasonably priced.
The program consists of three main parts. In the Spring semester before the trip, students take the Intro to Business in China class which provides a brief introduction to Chinese culture. In this class, students also design the fieldwork project that they will carry out in Shanghai, as well as a detailed individualized itinerary so that when they arrive in China they can hit the ground running.
In China, students will carry out the work for the two classes they designed in the spring: Business Fieldwork in Shanghai and China Then and Now.
By giving students the tools they need, our goal is to help them become independent, observant participants in the culture who can get around in China on their own.
For more information on the program, please see contact Hsuan-Ying Liu. For more study abroad options and information, visit the Study Abroad page.
