Toddler Language Circle
TLC is a small group, language-based, collaborative program for toddlers between the ages of 22 to 36 months of age.
Graduate student clinicians have the opportunity to gain experience working with the "wee ones" in this early education practicum setting.
Children who attend also qualify to receive services from the Anne Carlsen Early Intervention Program and have had an Individual Family Service Plan designed for them.
The program is designed for children that are at-risk or delayed in their speech and language development. Parents are an integral part of the program with their child and receive information on how to stimulate communication in natural environments.
The curriculum provides opportunities for language learning that are embedded within typical activities experienced by young children in natural environments during the twice weekly sessions. Pre-literacy and individual speech and language goals are planned for each child.
Staff for the program includes a certified speech and language pathologist and graduate students from the UND Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders.
