Undergraduate Minor
A minor in Women and Gender Studies involves a minimum of 20 hours of coursework with at least a 2.0 GPA.
I. Required Courses (6 credits)
WGS 200 : Introduction to Gender Studies (3)
or
WGS 225 : Introduction to the Study of Women (3)
WGS 480 : Feminist Theory (3)
II. Regularly Offered Courses (at least 3 classes, 9 credits)
CJ 361 : Victimology (3)
ENG 357 : Women Writers & Readers (repeatable when topics vary) (3)
REL 216 : Women in Religion (3)
SOC 340 : Sociology of Gender and Sex Roles (3)
III. Cross-Listed Courses (at least 5 credits from any of the cross-listed courses)
WGS 492 : Senior Study (3)
COMM 310 : Media and Diversity (3)
CJ 302 : Women, Crime, and Criminal Justice (3)
SOC 335 : The Family (3)
PSY 365 : Psychology of Women
In order for the minor to appear on your transcript, you must declare it at the Arts and Sciences offices in Montgomery Hall Rm 125.
