Admissions Info: You Belong at UND Theatre Arts
The University starts processing applications one year before each term. The earlier you apply and are admitted, the more options you'll have for financial aid, scholarships, registering for classes and housing.
Freshmen do not have to audition for acceptance to UND Theatre Arts. If you are interested in the BFA program, you will be accepted to UND Theatre Arts as a B.A. student your freshman year, and will have the opportunity to audition for the BFA program at the end of your sophomore year.
At UND, you will find a friendly, helpful atmosphere with many opportunities to learn, grow and prepare for your future. We review each application individually. If your grades or test scores don't tell us the entire story, and you show signs of academic promise, you'll still be considered for admission.
Go to our online admission estimator where you'll see what GPA and standardized scores you need to be automatically admitted.
Admission Requirements
Freshman Applicants: Send your UND application, high school transcript and standardized test scores directly to the Office of Admissions.
Automatic Admission Standards: Automatic Admission is granted to high school graduates entering as freshmen and transfer students with less than 24 semester hours of transferable credit, whose ACT and GPA scores correspond with our Admission Chart.
In addition, you must meet the high school core requirements - English (4 units), Math (3 units of Algebra I or above), Lab Science (3 units), Social Studies (3 units).

SAT and ACT scores considered for UND admission, consist only of the math and verbal sections. The writing section is not measured on either test. You should still apply for admission even if your GPA or ACT don't meet automatic admission standards.
Your application will be reviewed by a committee that will look at all relevant information to make their admission decision. Students over 25 aren't required to submit an ACT or SAT score.
Provisional Admission: Students may be admitted on a provisional basis. They will be limited to 15 credits in their first semester and must participate in expanded academic advisement, plus a course in study skills or University Life. This policy is meant to provide adequate support to students to help them succeed.
Transfer Students: Send transcripts from the institutions you've attended to the UND Office of Admissions. If you've earned under 60 semester hours of credit, include your high school transcript. If you're under 25 and have completed less than 24 credits at another institution of higher education, you must take the ACT or SAT test. Official results of the test should be sent to UND directly from the testing agency.
