Orientation Day

Dear New UND Music Major:

Welcome to the Department of Music at the University of North Dakota! We are the most comprehensive music department in the region, with exciting opportunities for you.

All new music majors are required to attend our New Music Major Orientation Day on Monday, August 20, 2012, in the Hughes Fine Arts Center (HFAC). On Orientation Day you will learn about the intricacies of being a music major, meet your professors and advisors, sign up for ensemble auditions, and be heard for applied lessons placement. A basic schedule of events for the day is listed below.

8:30 a.m............................... Registration – HFAC Lobby
9:00 a.m............................... Orientation Session – Josephine Campbell Recital Hall
10:00 a.m............................. Applied Music Placement Auditions
10:00 a.m............................. Transfer Student Music Theory and Aural Skills Testing
12:00 p.m............................. Lunch provided by Music Department
1:00 p.m............................... Applied Music Placement Auditions (continued),
Keyboard Skills Proficiency Testing (optional)
1:00 p.m................................ Graduate History Placement Exam HFAC Room 258
3:00 p.m................................ Graduate Theory Placement Exam HFAC Room 258
