NORW 350 – Norwegian Culture: Vikings & Sagas (3 credits)
This course explores the life and literature of the Vikings. Learn about life in Scandinavia during the Viking Age (A.D. 793 – A.D. 1066) in all forms: society and culture, settlement and technology, religion and trade, warfare and poetry. This course also studies literature about the Vikings, as recorded by the Icelanders in sagas from the 12th and 13th centuries. Course offered in English for students in other fields.

NORW 433 – Norwegian Literature: The short story (3 credits)
An upper level grammar seminar built upon the short story. Read prominent authors of the last three decades who have chosen this genre. Prerequisite: NORW202 or equivalent.
