Humanities and Integrated Studies
In the mid-1980s, two Humanities professors, Dr. Patricia Sanborn and Dr. Jerry Lawrence, received a significant grant from the UND Office of Instructional Development and a major grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities to develop a new coordinated studies learning community at UND: the Integrated Studies Program (ISP). ISP is an award-winning and nationally-known program that offers several Essential Studies courses as a package each semester in a student-friendly, small discussion group classroom format. Many students have benefited from and enjoyed this extraordinary option available to them.
