May 16, 2013: Graduates students, Melissa Wygant and Rick Thalacker, are two of 14 recipients of the 2013-2014 Graduate Research Fellowships from the North Dakota Water Resources Research Institute. Congratulations!

May 4, 2013: The 2012-2013 winner of the Grand Forks University Woman of the Year presented by the American Association of University Women is Amber Boll.

April 24, 2013: Undergraduate Honors student Marcus Wax presenting his research on "Integrating Select Industry into New Urbanism" at the 15th Annual Honors Undergraduate Research Conference.

April 22, 2013: Graduate student Lori Young successfully defended her Master's thesis called "Is there a disconnect? Comparing North Dakota and National Geography standards". Congratulations Lori!

April 18, 2013: Undergraduate student Garrett Jepsen presented his research at the 19th Annual McNair Scholars Forum.

April 11, 2013: Undergraduate student Amber Boll presented her poster at the 109th Annual Meeting Meeting of the Association of American Geographers in Los Angeles.

April 5, 2013: Dr. Sowers from Minot State University will be giving a presentation on rural residential identity and experience on Wednesday April 17th at 3pm in O'Kelly Hall Room 157.

March 22, 2013: The March Forum for Contemporary Geographic Issues featured Dr. Graham Tobin from the University of South Florida.

March 6, 2013: Geography undergraduates, graduates, and faculty presented posters at the 2013 Scholarly Forum.

March 6, 2013: Dr. Tobin from the University of South Florida, a global expert on hazards, will be giving a colloquium at the department's forum speaker series on Thursday March 21, 11-11:50am in Leonard Hall Room 110.

January 31, 2013: Dr. Rundquist has received funding for a collaborative seed grant award with Dr. Goodwin (Biology) in the amount of $22,512. The project is called: "The Impacts of Climate-Change, Landscape Change and Weather on Bird Population Trends."

January 18, 2013: The schedule for the Spring Geography Forum speaker series is published.

August 31, 2012: Dr. Rundquist takes students to the UND Biological Field Station in Oakville Prairie to demonstrate field methods in remote sensing.
