32nd Annual Writing for Children and Young Adults Conference
September 30-October 1, 2011
Have a story in you? Then Writing for Children and Young Adults is the conference for you! This year the conference features four editors: Jennifer Arena of Random House, Elizabeth Law of Egmont, Brian Farrey of Flux, and Sharyn November of Viking/Firebird.
The featured author is Kurtis Scaletta, the online education director of The Loft in Minneapolis, and the author of 3 middle grade books, plus a baseball series under contract. Scaletta is a UND graduate and a former resident of Grand Forks.
The cost is $90, which includes lunch and attendance at all panels. There is a reduced rate of $45 for students.
Attendees may submit manuscripts to be read by the visiting editors. For the first time, attendees may submit as many manuscripts as they like. Each manuscript must be accompanied by a $40 fee, and we guarantee that an editor will read your manuscript. There are some limitations on length. For more information, please email Janet Spaeth, conference director, at janetspaeth@yahoo.com.
The conference begins the evening of September 30 and continues through October 1.
