Sculpture Facilities
A total of 4,835 square feet are devoted to the sculpture studios.
Instructional spaces include
Instructional space within the sculpture area includes an all purpose classroom space, a metalshop, woodshop, toolroom, mold-making room, wax room, bronze casting foundry facility, matting & framing room, and several storage closets.
The sculpture area features an overhead hoist running the entire length of the area, loading dock access, and an outdoor work area.
Woodshop
The woodshop features major power tools: wood lathe, vertical band saw, table saw, radial arm saw, power miter, panel saw, drill press, two sanders, and several work tables. It is also equipped with overhead electrical outlets, pneumatic airlines, and a central dust collection system.
Metal Shop
The metal shop features two oxy-acetylene welding rigs, two ARC welders, a TIG welder, and a MIG welder. Major power equipment in the metalshop includes a drill press, a metal lathe, one vertical band saw, one horizontal bandsaw, a sheet metal roller, and a bench break. The room is also equipped with metal vises, steel tables, a cabinet for safety equipment, and welding curtains.
Moldmaking & Wax Room
This room is used to prepare molds for bronze casting. It contains a cement mixer, a laminating press, a sink, storage area for plaster and sand, worktables, and shelves. The wax room is equipped with worktables, shelves, storage cabinet for patina chemicals, and various other equipment needed to create wax forms in preparation for the lost wax casting process.
Myra Fine Arts Foundry
Myra Fine Arts Foundry This facility is equipped with 2 floor level furnaces, burnout kiln, casting pit, sand blasting cabinet, power hoist, safety clothing, and other tools used in the bronze casting process.
Toolroom
This room contains a variety of hand tools that students may check-out for use on assignments. The toolroom houses everything from hammers, screwdrivers, pliers to a range of hand held power tools
