Hand Building Studio
This multi-purpose area contains six large work tables, 78 standard lockers, 35 flat file drawers for paper storages, a paper cutter and a 24"x36" light table.
In addition it houses a Griffin II, electric 32"x59" bed litho press, a Griffin I, 27"x47" bed Griffin litho press on loan, a Takach-Garfieldpress, grinding equipment, stone storage and inking, a hydrolicstone lift, 24 medium to large Bavarian limestone’s and various storage cabinets.
Throwing Studio
This room houses three intaglio presses including a Takach 18"x36"bed etching press, a Meker & McFee, 24"x48" bed; an Alps, 30"x66"bed; and a French processes. There are eight 4'x8' plywood stretching boards providing 512 sq. ft. of print drying capacity. There are 48 flat file drawers for paper storage.
For the Intaglio processes the plate preparation room contains an aquatint box, a drop knife plate cutter, space for preparing plates with grounds and cleaning up. There are two sinks and an eye washer. In addition, there is a large spray booth, which is used by the whole Department for safe venting fixatives, etc.
Clay Making Studio
This room is specially vented to control acid fumes and has an emergency shower.
