What is UND 1stG?
UND 1stG links first-generation college students—those whose parents do not have four-year college degrees—with UND faculty, administrators, and staff in the College of Arts & Sciences who were themselves first-generation college students. Being among the first in your family to attend a four-year college brings with it a special set of needs and challenges. UND 1stG faculty understand those challenges, and can help first-generation students build the relationships that are central to a positive and successful college experience.
How many 1stG students are there at UND?
There are over 1,200 undergraduate first generation students across all colleges at UND.
Based on our most recent data, about 13% of UND's undergraduate student body is 1stG.
How do you find UND 1stG faculty, administrators, and staff?
